  My wife suffered a scalp injury from flying beads at the Mardi Gras parade which bled profusely. The Red Cross team were professional, efficient and very caring. She received a very thorough examination which foretuneatly found that no stitches were required. They also provided reassurance to a worried hubby. Many, many thanks.

  Considering it is mostly Volunteers, they are dedicated to providing the best service experience possible from Safety Training to Temporary Immediate Assitance for disaster victims from small to large. Disclaimer: I am a Red Cross Disaster Action Team Volunteer.

  If you can, you should volunteer. Great group of people from all backgrounds coming together to contribute to the community. I know I'm making a shameless plug- but if you can't give your time, consider making a donation. If the red Cross hasn't assisted you in a time of need, they will be there if you ever need it. One of the great institutions working in our nation.
