  If I could give this place a zero stars I would! My family has been coming to this place for twenty years. All the good & nice people are gone. I have bad anxiety and I hate going to the dentist. My Dad is always with me to help ease the anxiousness for me. The lady at the desk is the rudest person I've ever met! She has NO business working with people. The second to last time I was in there my father had asked how long it would be until I could see the dentist (we had been waiting a half an hour with only one other person in the office). The woman had said, "When that patient is done" which isn't an answer. So when my dad sat down with me the two of us were talking about how crazy the wait was. The woman at the desk yells out to us, "If you have something to say you can come up and say it to me." We weren't even talking to her or about her! Not to mention how rude it was! I had said, "I was speaking to my father not you." that's when she decided to get smart and keep her mouth shut. Like I said I suffer from anxiety so people like this is the last thing I need. The last time I was there (today) I had booked an appointment for two week from then. I had called to confirm the time because I didn't receive a phone call. The same receptionist picks up. Not only did I have to say my name and date of birth twice or three times, she said I wasn't in for an appointment at all! I knew why that was, I just didn't have proof. She had claimed there were no spots for today either. I had asked to speak to someone because I wanted to complain about being inconvenienced because I know for a fact that I did book the appointment. That's when she immediately snapped at me and said, "I AM THE MANAGER AND I'M TRYING TO HELP YOU!" No offense to the woman but I didn't say she wasn't. Then she had the audacity to say to me, "I want to speak your father!" My jaw dropped! I couldn't believe she demanded to speak to my Dad, I'm 25 years old why couldn't she talk to me?! I put my father on and she told him, "Your daughter need to relax". Yes I swear she said that because I had the conversation on speaker phone. Then she screamed and yelled at my father about how I need to respect people. I've never been so insulted, disrespected, and spoke about/to like a child in my entire life! She kept rambling on and yelling at my Dad, didn't give him a second to talk. Magically after my Dad finally got a word in an 11:30 and 4:30 was open. Convient but I was happy to get this over with. After the appointment was booked she just hung up on my Dad. When I got to the place for my appointment the other receptionist (not the one I spoke) says to my Dad rudely, "I need to talk to you." No hi or hello, she just said it like he was a child in trouble. At one point she came out and sat next to my Dad and tried to confront me about the phone call. Which I didn't understand why because I wasn't talking to her, I hadn't said anything wrong, and I wanted to speak to a manager which she wasn't! So what was the point of confronting me? She had NO right! When she tried speaking to me I immediately shut her down and said, "I'm not speaking to you about this." so she dramatically threw her hands up and said, "Fine! It's probably better that way." I didn't say anything thing to anyone cause I didn't want any further problems and again she had nothing to do with it! My Dad was on the phone when she came to talk to us so she tried to scare me and said to my dad, "Oh I still need to talk to you." Did she? No! I have to say, the doctor and the assistant guy was very nice, but the way I was treated was DISGUSTING! This place needs an attitude make over and a lesson or two in customer service.

  Poor service front desk and manager are very rude : 1-walk in for an emergency visit and they asked me for my insurance card didnt have it with me and they were denying to see me, i offered to give them the ID # there just like no no that we need the card guess what no you dont you need the id number. There just lazy to call for eligiblity 2- They were giving me a hard time just because i didnt have my recent xrays with me , i explained my situation and they still said no i offered to pay out of pocket and they still were denying me to be seen 3-They just want patient to leave so they can leave early on a saturday do your job dont turn people away ,people are here to be seen not to be turned down AMERICAN DENTAL IN HICKSVILLE YOU GUYS NEED NEW FRONT STAFF PEOPLE COME IN TO BE SEEN NOT TO BE TURNED AWAY!

  Not sure why there are such bad reviews. My kids and I have been coming here for years and I was just there today. Staff is polite and courteous. Today my X-Rays had to be retaken, but they were apologetic and re-did them right away. My son was in and out, but I needed some more work. Lol It's a busy office in a fairly new building, so they must be doing something right!!

  Not sure why there are so many bad reviews for this place. I've been coming here for years and was just there today. I never wait too long and I've never had any issues . A+

  I was a little concerned after reading these reviews. I was over critical during my visits and I have to say I am happy with the service. I had a root canal done by Dr. Thomas Riutta Jr, DDS. and he was great and does nice work. I will continue to go to this location.
