  I would never use J. Alvaro Alonso as an attorney. He did absolutely nothing but collect his attorney fee. We could never get in touch with him. He didn't respond to phone messages or emails. We could only get in touch with his assistant who could never answer our questions and could only take messages for him. Alvaro's lack of responsiveness actually cost me money. Based off of information that his office provided, we was expecting to close on a Monday. We called on the Friday beforehand to confirm that the closing was still on but it turned out that he had gone on vacation that day. We had spoken with his assistant the day before and there was no mention of him being on vacation the following day. We assumed that the closing was still on so we had the movers come on Saturday. My family (me, wife, and 1 year old) moved into a hotel expecting to be there for the weekend. First thing on Monday morning we called the office and got his assistant who was not able to provide any information. Alvaro eventually showed up to work and forwarded an email from the Title Company stating that the closing would be weeks later. Alvaro didn't hide the date that he originally received the email. It turns out that he had been sitting on that email for a few days prior to going on vacation. We were livid knowing that we would be forced to live in a hotel for all that time when we still could have been living in our house. Alvaro's indifference cost me a ton of money. Upon approaching Alvaro for compensation due to his mistake, he heartlessly refused. He didn't care about anything except collecting his fees. The Title Agency reported that his counterpart attorney in the deal actually drove the process forward and essentially did his job for him. Alvaro deserves to be disbarred. Spread the word that his services as an attorney should not be utilized.
