::They are the best. I don't even know why I'm writing a review because they already have a great rating. The subs are great, they know what goes into an italian sub without having to tell them, and their system is so efficient you are in and out before you know it (so long as you know what you want). I always have a good experience. To be fair, I have never had their hot subs because I'm usually in a rush, but I have heard they are great as well (though naturally take longer to make). Pro-tip: they have two lines: one for cold-subs and one for hot-subs.

::I ordered a small chicken pesto sandwich. What I got was anything, but small. This huge sandwich makes other sandwiches envious. Did I mention I got this monstrous chock full of chicken and tomatoes for $7.50! In downtown Boston! Crazy Good! I'm coming back for another for sure!

::Reasonably priced and large sandwiches. Efficient service. Only thing that could make Al's better is pepperoni on the menu.

::Best subs in Boston, ready almost instantaneously with fresh french bread that's crisp on the outermost layer and perfectly soft on the inside, along with freshly sliced and diced toppings. Also, the same staff has worked there for years, so they must take care of their employees. I'd eat there daily if I could.

::I ran into Al’s for the first time in Harvard Square not knowing what a lunch phenom it would become. This location in Boston is the veritable lunch sandwich Mecca for your choice of hot or cold subs, chips, and drinks. Even a small sub could feed a grown hairy man for 2 days. Lots of meat and lots of bread. While the subs are not a knock out, they pretty satisfying and heaps better than Jimmy Johns. What is the best about Al’s is that the cold and hot sandwiches have different lines. So it’s super efficient for those who need to get in and out. Yeah, it’s the ultimate in lunch stops. They’re friendly too, despite the pace. If you’re in the mood for a quick, satisfying sub that will feed two grown hairy men, there’s Al’s. If your drunk need to forget that last 24 hours, including what you ate, there’s Jimmy Johns.
