We planned to do a walkway and patio for our new home, prior to a fence being installed and Alcoa worked with us to make sure everything was completed in a timely manner. The crew was extremely polite and the project Foreman did a great job overseeing everything. Steve R. made daily trips to the project site to make sure everything was as planned, to include asking us if we were okay with minor adjustments that had to be made to ensure the work was done properly, but also adjusting to our landscape. The end product is amazing and we are very happy with everything that was done. They really took their time and made sure we will have a product that will last a very long time.

I can't say enough good things about Alcoa! We used their company for the patio around our pool & a retaining wall. Not only did they beat all the other quotes we received but their work & customer service is incredible! They were always here when they said they would be, the timeline given for the work to be completed was always accurate & they kept communication with us if anything changed. We had a minor issue where a section of the patio collected water causing the pavers to sink. We sent them photos last evening & they had a crew here first thing this morning to fix it & the patio looks great. Steve was our direct point of contact throughout the process & he made our experience hassle free. We would highly recommend this company time & time again! 👍

My wife and I decided install a paver patio around our new inground pool and got quotes from multiple companies to do the job. Our pool builder recommended Alcoa, so we decided to go with them despite having estimates that were less expensive from other companies. The crew that came out did a good job, and I’m happy with the work, but if I could do it all over again I would have gone with a different company. My first complaint with Alcoa is the poor communication between us and our project manager Steve. After signing our contract and making the first payment, 10 days passed with no word from Alcoa. I finally tried emailing Steve to see when the work would be scheduled to take place. He replied that day letting me know the work was scheduled to start in 2 days. No complaints from me since I wanted our patio done sooner rather than later, but I was surprised he didn’t let us know as soon as we were scheduled since someone had to be home for the installation. After the first day of construction 3 straight days passed without any continuation of the work. I tried to contact Steve to find out what was going on since the job was only supposed to take 2 days. After trying to contact Steve via email and phone, I called the Alcoa business number to see when they were scheduled to come back and finish our job. The person there said Steve was the only one who knew anything about the work being done at our house, and that I should call him instead. What the heck?! Steve called me a day later to let me know the reason for the delay, which brings me to my second complaint with Alcoa. They didn’t know the county permit requirements for our patio and installed the wrong type of bonding. The reason they hadn’t come out to finish our job was because the county had failed the bonding inspection twice! It turns out that after the first failed inspection Alcoa simply scheduled a second inspection without making any changes, and were surprised when it failed a second time. Steve let me know that work was halted until I agreed to pay $500 for material they need to install a new bonding grid that would pass inspection. Since we were already delayed a week, and I just wanted the job to be done, I agreed to pay instead of arguing the terms of our contract. The new bonding did pass inspection and the patio was eventually installed, but the 2 week delay caused setbacks for scheduling our plaster and fence installation for the pool. I also really don’t like that they charged me $500 for their mistake. TLDR: Consider another company, but if you have to go with Alcoa, make sure your contract stipulates that any work done must pass an inspection.
