  ALAN FLUSSER CUSTOM THIS SHOP IS A DANGEROUS PLACE! I cannot leave without committing to something new. There should be warnings! Alan Flusser is probably best known as the author of the comprehensive “Dressing the Man” books and as THE designer of traditional, impeccably styled, Men’s clothing. What is NOT well known, I believe, is his informed, daring use of textiles and intensively collaborative, personal approach, to one’s own “classic” look. Working with Alan and the team, is a joy. Alan’s love of sharing the possibilities in a project, carry you along, till swiftly, you’re caught in an adventure of fabrics, linings, buttons, pockets … styling, et al, working together to conjure a very personal, statement. A few years ago, my wife, who had long coveted the tailoring, detail and attention to design, I enjoyed at “Alan Flusser Custom”asked if he knew of an equivalent, in the world of women’s tailoring. Alan said, “We can do that”. Now he works his magic in suits, jackets, skirts, slacks and, very shortly, a tuxedo … for her. A visit to Alan and his team, is more fun than it should be. The results are wonderful. I often forget, but always intend, to tell Alan, each time I’m wearing one of his garments, how incredibly I feel, in the apparel he has created. Well now, finally, I’ve had that opportunity. Thank you Alan.

  Alan takes great care in fitting the fabric and design to your desires but is full of sage advice about what works and what does't. I have suits, top coats and shirts from Alan and have never been disappointed. They last and look stylish years later.
