If you are looking for someplace to get away in the desert that is close proximity to Phoenix and Scottsdale area, this regional park space has it all. From horseback riding to mountain biking to hiking, there's plenty of open space for everyone. If model airplanes or helicopters are your thing, there is a model Airport that is actually one of the top rated in the country. So much so that it was included in a flight simulation software for those that wish to practice flying virtually prior to taking their expensive model out and potentially crashing it. Now, is definitely the time of year to get out and enjoy the outdoor areas, but use common sense take plenty of water. Although it may seem tempting, don't interact with the wildlife. Types that you may encounter are, rattlesnake, javelina, coyote, desert fox and an occasional wild burro or tarantula. Most of these can cause life-threatening injuries that may require expensive Air Evac services. Adobe Dam Regional Park can be accessed by Cave Creek Road just north of Pinnacle Peak Road where are you will find a public parking area just north of the dam on the west side of Cave Creek Road.

A very nice and we'll put together place. No long hikes and shade in needed areas. You do need to look to find some of the petroglyphs. Staff was awesome and informative. Inside was very well put together, clean and informative.

Fun for families with children. The railroad park is fun for those who enjoy a ride on a miniature train. Kids get a chance to operate the engine. Rides take you out on a short trip through the area. Lots of ball parks for softball fans. Wet and Wild is open all summer long. A fun day of swimming and water rides.
