Looking for barber can be intimidating for a woman. I was growing a buzzcut and wanted to shape it and have a fade. I booked with Seng, barber and stylist and he delivered exactly what I was looking for. We also discussed hair color options for our future appointments. Great experience overall, I felt very comfortable at this salon.

Great haircuts at reasonable prices. Eclectic staff and clientele, there are always lively conversations going on! You can pay with a card, but tips are cash only.

Not a prime location. The place is inaccessible for commuters. I went there 3 times, and the cut I got could very well have been done by someone at Supercuts for cheaper price. The experience felt rushed, I didn't even get a hair wash (were we supposed to ask for one?). Some of the people working there are rude to customers. Look elsewhere that is slightly pricier than this place in Boston or just go to Supercuts.

TO SALON 333 OWNERS: I EXPECT AN APOLOGY FOR BEING TREATED THE WAY WE DID We had "master seng" as our hair dresser, which is hilarious because we actually booked our appt w someone else and they automatically rescheduled us and gave us a different stylist without permission. He was derogatory, clumsy (both with his tools and English) and made us feel terrible. My boyfriend has naturally thin and sticks out naturally, and he kept trying to tell him his hair was "difficult" and cutting it was "dangerous" because it was so thin and hard to work with. He insisted we use pomade (though it doesn't work w his lifestyle) and didn't understand the adjustments we were asking of the trim (cut the back more). By the end of it, I was fuming because the haircut looked awful, took double the time it should have, and he used awful words to describe the arduous process of working with thinning Asian hair that looks bad without product. HOW COULD YOU TALK TO PEOPLE LIKE THAT? Imagine if this was an African American customer and they heard their hair was difficult and ugly without product. There would be OUTRAGE but because we were Asian no one thought to point it out. Also, the whole salon kept giving us side eye. NOT A SINGLE SMILE FROM ANY EMPLOYEE.

I've lived in Boston for 6 years and have never been able to find a hair salon that I am consistently happy with--either the haircut itself is disappointing, the place is not easy to get to, or the person I like leaves without warning. This was my first time at 333 Boston and I think I've finally found my favorite spot :) I booked a last minute appointment through the app on their website (so convenient) and scheduled a cut, color, and blow dry with Candice. She took a few minutes to talk with me about what I wanted and made some suggestions, which I appreciated. Candice executed exactly what I was looking for and was lovely to hang out with for a few hours this afternoon. I will definitely be back.
