::I've eaten here twice now and both times have been exceptional. 20 West Cafe is an excellent addition to the downtown lunch scene (They open at 7 for breakfast too!). Chef Brett Cromer has gone above and beyond in creating a menu that appeals to vegetarians, vegans, and health conscious omnivores (something sadly lacking in many Jacksonville restaurants) while remaining both delicious and a good value. On that note, this has to be the best place in town to satisfy a sweet tooth. Due to their association with FSCJ's Baking School you can purchase delectable pastries and pies for only a buck or two! The decor is stylish and modern in a fantastic historic space (The 107 year old Lerner Building. Hooray for adaptive reuse!) with lots of sustainable touches like an herb wall and automatic lighting. On a personal note, I am thrilled to see a counter-service restaurant that uses real dishes (nice ones!), rather than contributing unnecessarily to our planet's giant trash issue! They are also committed to downtown revitalization and urban gardens. The high-quality student art on the walls adds a nice touch to the atmosphere and I suspect their lovely meeting and event space with its enormous live edge cedar conference table will become quite popular with the movers and shakers in town. I am very excited to have this spot so close to home (#SpringfieldStrong) and will definitely be back soon. PS: Try the falafal burger, it's yummy!
