  Good pub food (loved the caramelized Brussels sprouts) and great service. Perfect for a bite before a show at Second City.

  Inside the famous Piper's Alley and home of Second City, 1959 Kitchen and Bar is great for taking in lunch or dinner. An even better place to meet up with friends and have a few drinks and let everybody know your name.

  I thought the decor was nice and the service was good. The place was packed for a Thursday, and we got a half price bottle of wine, which I appreciate. We ordered the spicy fried chicken. It was significantly spicier than I expected. I thought the white bread served under it was unnecessary and the radish salad was good although there should be more of it. We also ordered the panzanella salad. It needed more beets, the bread needed to be smaller, and the cheese should be creamy to spread like goat cheese or fresh ricotta. We also ordered the peroges which I thought were good. Overall I think the food was a little lacking and needed editing, but was reasonably priced. I might go back for late night eats again but try something different.
