::I have lived in 100 Memorial Drive Apt since this year, and I am writing this review for the people whom are considering living here. PLEASE avoid living in this apartment and PLEASE do not make the same mistake that I have made. PROS Of course, there are pros. I chose to live here because of its fantastic view over the Charles River, but this is the only positive thing. The view of 100 memorial drive apartment is the best in Cambridge. You can appreciate the river, sky, and buildings always. CONS 1. Constructions: there are a lot of construction near this apartment. There are supposed to be 6 roads to access the front of my apartment, but now only a one-way road is available (the back of the apartment is accessible through memorial drive, but forget about calling an Uber at this location). First, you have to detour to walk to subway stations. This apartment is very close to Kendall/MIT station (red line), you may walk to the subway station in 2 minutes without those constructions. However, due to the construction, you have no choice but to walk almost 10 minutes to get to the station. Moreover, there are dangerous trucks and instrument for the construction, so you have to be careful while walking near the apartment. Second, Uber drivers often cancel the ride, and many cannot find the entrance because of the construction (the most they can do is stay on Ames street; enjoy walking 5 minutes in heavy snow every time you call an Uber). This is not the driver's fault, but the construction. You have to call Uber drivers every time to make an adjustment. Lastly, if you have a car, you should also detour to arrive at your parking lot. 2. Heating: maintenance already checked heater in November in my place. The maintenance contractors said it is ok. However, both November and December, even at temperatures at 46 degrees Fahrenheit (8 degrees Celsius) and 19 degrees Fahrenheit (-7C degrees Celsius), the heater was not working. I asked maintenance to fix it. However, the guy blamed me for two reasons. First, this apartment has central heating that will be turned when the outside degree is less 50F. Second, he checked my temperature (of course, the heater was broken, so the temperature was not correct), and said the temperature is normal. BUT I felt extremely cold, and asked him to check again. He was annoyed and called the heating company. I had to wait during the weekend, and bear with only small heater. When they finally checked my heater, they found that the heater was not turned on (the switch was inside the heater, where residents do not have access to). They never apologized. 3. High price of rent: the rental price is ridiculous, compared to other apartments near Kendall Square such as Third Square or Watermark East/West, 100 memorial drive is cheaper (maybe $300). However, when we compare the facility and maintenance, other apartments are luxury apartments, and 100 memorial drive apt is too old and the price of rent should be lower by at least $800 per house. 4. Old facilities: this apartment was built in 1970s. the kitchen is old and small. Even though there are a dishwasher and an oven, you cannot use them. Also, they often fix the water systems, so you cannot use the water once in every month (they do tell you in advance though). Elevator is old, and they maintain one of them frequently, disallowing the advantage of using two elevators. There are 400 units, using one elevator (except for elevator located in back door for heavy furniture or garbage) is very inconvenient. The windows are old as well, you can see rust on the sides. 5. The scent of smoking: there are balcony and roof top in the apartment. I not sure where people are smoking. However, obviously, I could smell distinct scents of burning cigarettes and marihuana in the hallway. Now I am regretting living here, but I should live until my contract. I should have searched for as many reviews as possible on the internet or asked people living here. This is why I am writing this comment. Please think twice before you choose to live here.

::Update July. Great! They are not only offering you early morning noise, but also night noise (7:50pm at this moment now and there is huge construction noise outside the building) as perks. ----- 2017 new tenant pay attention!! When you visit the apartment, you will see a huge construction site right next to the apartment (kendall T station direction instead of side facing the river). Every 7am there will be loud (seriously, just ask anyone who lives in this building where their apartment facing that direction, i think most of the apartments rooms are) construction noise, make sure you can take this and sleep well enough. Even foam earbuds won't works that well I have to say. The window can't reduce any noise unlike most modern apt window do, also, they can't keep you freezing in the winter either anyway. The good thing about this apartment is the staff are friendly, and you get the 24hour package handling. The major point of living here is to save you commute time if you work around Kendall Square. That's why I added one star. If they can do something about the window (which seems unlikely, because people has complaining for years, they seems don't care, might because there are so many people want to live here which drives the demand so high so they seems don't care about these "details" ... ), making it double window so can reduce noise and keep you warm at winter, then I would say it worth 3.8 star. It's expensive I have to say, but I am not complaining that, the location is just perfect. But paying such expensive with such living environment, I'd recommend think twice and ask someone who currently living here.

::Management tried to convince me that an old apartment in the basement, with old and rusty kitchen was "vintage and people like vintage stuff". Snake oil salesman. Position is great but there is better housing around.

::The staff in the office are helpful and friendly - Tom, Nate and Mark : ) Dennis in maintenance is professional and confident in his work - no worries with having him in your space. The residents on the elevator speak to each other and inspire a sense of community. Best of All - the "Concierge" Desk folks smile, offer helpful advice and keep your packages safe and ready for pick up! I love it!
