Food was very tasty. Service was great and quick. Atmosphere was enjoyable and the prices were very reasonable. Great spot for a great bite.

Found a little dead spider on my lettuce today with a burger. This is the third time I’ve gotten food from them, all the other times have been good. Wash your greens! Bugs aren’t my ideal protein.

Zocalo Cafe is a best option for families, not for singles. Here's why families love it: 1) It's in charming West Austin on a street with other restaurant options and coffee shops. 2) It's casual, but good. They serve Mexican food including tacos that come in three. I ordered the shrimp tacos and they weren't bad. 3) They have a large outdoor space with picnic tables. 4) They serve fun drinks for kids and adults. I ordered a double sangria (though I still have no idea what made it a double. It looked normal). It's a fun spot for families. However, if you are looking for the best food/experience in Austin, you won't find it here. Head over to East Austin to find that and better food.

Went in for margarita/taco specials. Will want to come back to try the regular menu and at a less busy time, as it was a nice atmosphere. It was a very full evening and one thing that makes the experience stressful is fighting for tables, since they don't have a proper system in place and customers don't have common decency of order. People were holding tables even though there is signage that says you must order first, and others racing to tables even though there were others ahead of them The best example of how this could be done is "Pho Please" on E. Riverside. You are assigned a table when you order, therefore it is impossible for people to hold tables before they order.

I had a delicious and very big torta. It tasted authentic, and I've eaten Mexican food all my life. It was a great value. I wish I had a picture to share! I definitely would go back again. Also the restaurant is quite nice and inviting. I think there was a nice looking patio, but we ended up eating inside by the window which offered a nice view.
