  This shop knows bikes. No corporate up-selling or unnecessary frills. Just a down to earth mechanic with years of experience. Highly recommended.

  I went to Yojimbo's Garage to have him size and make custom spokes for my two fixed gear rear wheels. I built the wheels and tried to tighten the spokes. The spokes were made a little too long. I live far away so he offered to take the wheels, disassemble, recut the spokes and rebuild the wheels for me. This kind of customer service is unheard of at most shops these days. I would highly recommend Yojimbo's Garage to anyone looking for the best bicycle shop in the area. He stands by his products and takes care of his customers.

  "Yojimbo" is Japanese for "bodyguard," which is cool. Marcus is very patient and knowledgeable and has fixed my bikes for almost ten years. He is a racing specialist, but I have gotten a lot of things from him, like baskets, pedals and seats. I have found his prices very competitive and never thought I had overpaid. Also, I am glad every time I have an excuse to stop by since his shop is so interesting and Marcus is so friendly and intelligent. Quintessential local business holding out amid condo-monium in the old Cabrini Green district. Authentic one man Chicago bike shop. Old school. Real deal. Love it.

  Great shop for track bikes, wheel building and esoteric knowlegde. One of the most interesting bike shops - a one man show. Unusual but regular hours.
