  OMG the food here... sometimes there's a semi-long wait and it's a little confusing when you walk in to understand how to get yourself on the list, so don't be shy and just ask someone otherwise you might stand there for a bit since they're usually packed. Get the chicken and waffles and the grits. The poutine was a little strange, it tasted like it had nacho cheese on it or something -- I'd avoid that one. Other than that, the rest of the food is AMAZING.

  Great place for cocktails. Bartender gave my friend an interesting but funny cocktail analysis. Fun experience and I look forward to going back!

  I liked this place a lot!! Very cozy, very friendly staff. One of those places where I wanted to ear everything on the menu!

  First impression right when I walked into the restaurant? Not so good. Self seated, took like 5 minutes before we got our water and menu when it wasn't that busy. And let's begin with the noise level, it gets SUPER loud when it's packed. Now I'm not talking about just loud overall, it's like the noises are bouncing all over the wall and you can hear every conversation while you are sitting there. Let's talk about the food. The waffle was absolutely amazing, I can definitely taste the buttermilk flavor in the waffles, not crispy, but soft and warm, I can eat that for breakfast everyday. The fried chicken was very tender and juicy, the skin was very crispy and flavorful. However, it might not be great for everyone because it's pretty salty with a kick of lemon juice/sour(just the meat btw) in it. I thought it was quite interesting when it wasn't just salty but sour also (maybe it's because of the maple syrup?) Overall evaluation: The food makes up for the overall experience, but it won't justify for the first impression. 3.5/5 It's nice but it's only good enough to try it just for once.

  I don't have enough good things to say about Witness, it is an amazing establishment. The food is fantastic, and despite being southern comfort food there is always a vegetarian and often vegan option that is delicious. The drinks are delicious, really some of my favorite cocktails in Seattle. The service is outstanding, everyone is so friendly and the place has a lovable, warm sense of humor. Also, the weekend brunch is just ridiculously good. The chicken and waffles are a staple, but you can't go wrong.
