I really liked staying here. Good staff, nice room, balcony, good breakfast, good coffee in the room. Quiet fridge. Blackout curtains. A tiny bit noisy from the road, but not a problem. Good location for the main sights, too.

Stayed here on more than one occasion and you simply cant beat the location for the price. You are right in the middle of everything if you plan on visiting as a tourist, most places are within walking distance. Every time I have stayed, the staff have been extremely helpful and courteous!

Front desk service was great... they provided maps and advice for the general area. It's located in the heart of D.C. so you're close to restaurants, shops, and a nice 20 minute walk or so from the White house, Washington monument, museums, etc. It's also close to D.C. metro if you want to travel as the locals do. Washington Plaza hotel is one of the very few hotels that have parking (underground), so that's a MAJOR PLUS because parking and driving in Washington D.C. is almost as bad as New York... The room was clean and cozy, a bit smaller than I expected. They're very compact, great for solo business trips. I believe it's more of a business oriented hotel anyway; although there's a little bar/mingling area in the lobby. There's also an outdoor pool which I did not experience because my visit was during the winter, but it looks like it would be enjoyable during the summer.

I give the hotel 4 stars based on location. 3 stars for the room itself. The staff was very courteous and the rooms are very clean but a bit dated. The door leads to a balcony overseeing the pool. The problem is the door doesn't stay closed and the cold air continuously comes into the room. I rigged the latch to keep the door tight. Its secure but not sealed. The heater must run all day to keep the room warm. Otherwise the room is decent. Housekeeping does a great job each morning. If your high-end look elsewhere other wise this place is average with great location to good food and close proximity to the White House.
