We all came from far away to meet here and eat for my daughter's birthday. The place was virtually empty with the exception of one or two tables in this very large place. Kind of odd for a Sunday lunchtime. Just like always, the music is too loud and you have to yell to talk to each other from across the table. Totally forgot that about this place, but was reminded rather rapidly. The waitress was quick to bring water, and came back to ask our order while we were all catching up, she was very patient. However when it came time to order she was not around. It took about 5 minutes to get her attention. The order was simple, 2 steak and noodles, 3 sushi rolls. Now, isn't it common to serve everybody at the same time, no matter what restaurant? All of the food took a very long time, but the beef and noodles came out about 25 minutes later, while the rest of sat another 15 to 20 minutes waiting for our sushi rolls. By the time they came out the guys were done with their plates. The waitress served us all at different times. It was one of those very irritating things, and another reason why I don't frequent this place.

Passing through Wichita a friend suggested this Wasabi Hinkaku for reasonably priced regular rolls but also having the option of getting specialty rolls for more of an experience. The wait staff was very sweet and let us pick our table so we could be more secluded. Clean restroom but only a single, so you had to wait a bit during their busy hours. Our food was tasty and well made, quick service but not the kind where you feel like you have to rush out after eating.

Excellent spot for lunch! Service was fast and courteous. Philly Roll was fresh and tasty, the miso soup was excellent and the bento box was delicious and filling. Enjoyed my visit to Wasabi and will absolutely return to sample their other fares.

The staff is very hit or miss here. Sometimes people will stand at the front waiting to be seated for over 10 minutes, other times you are greeted immediately. Editing to lower my review. The service has deteriorated even more. The last time I was there, we left after waiting 5 minutes at the front for someone to seat us. There were only 2 tables seated at the time.

Normally I love Wasabi, but on my latest visit my Tea tasted like FISH! They graciously replaced it with yet another cup of tea that tasted like FISH! I don't mean it was slightly fishy. It was like licking a Kansas farm pond catfish when you pull it outta the lake. My server graciously took it off of my bill but never admitted it smelled like fish or tasted like it. I had the person dining with me taste it before mentioning how I thought it tasted. She spit it back in the cup and rinsed her mouth out with ice water. Her comment: " What the hell did you order! " I ordered the chicken Katsu which was overdone and the tempura veggies were very greasy. I think their oil must not have been hot enough. The California rolls that came with my meal were good, and my dinner said her Wasabi rolls were good. Moral is: Only eat sushi @ a sushi restaurant, and definitely don't drink the green tea! Will I eat at Wasabi again? Yes. I won't let one BAD experience keep me from coming back to a restaurant that has historically been good. But they won't get a third chance if my next experience is like the last.
