  Dr. West was quick and attentative. Equipment was up to date. Enjoyed the visit. I was in and out quickly.

  I brought in my son and had a great experience with the doctor, but unfortunately their billing policies are awful. Be warned that there is a large fee to file insurance that wasn't disclosed before the exam. I have good vision coverage, but ended up paying out of pocket because it came out cheaper. I left and went to a way more affordable, strait forward, professional, and kind practice to purchase my son's glasses. I won't be back. In response to their reply: I have no deductible or copay, and my insurance covers up to $85 for an exam. I was told at time of payment that my portion of the exam would be $109 if I paid out of pocket, or $119 if I choose to have insurance filed after the $85, $204 total. Whether it was a fee for filing, or a discount for paying at time of service (not mentioned until now), that should have been disclosed ahead of time. I was told ahead that a standard annual exam for a healthy kid was $109 and went in expecting to pay around $24 after my insurance’s $85. I also had to call my insurance myself in the office to have everything faxed over, which is something I’ve never encountered in a medical office before. The whole thing was way more time consuming and expensive than is reasonable.

  We had a great experience with Dr. West at Visual Eyes. The staff was friendly and welcoming. There was no wait for our appointment time. Dr. West was very knowledgeable and thorough. In addition, her bedside manner is fantastic.
