I wish I could give this place a negative! I have had my mental health appt canceled on me 5 TIMES! 5 FREAKING TIMES and I am way past my 30 day. What kind of place is this?! They wont fill my meds because I need to see the doctor but they wont keep a damn appt. Then they say you can come in and wait around til someone can see you. Are you kidding me? I hate this place I can't stand it but unfortunately this is the insurance I have to deal with because I am a veteran. Screw you John Cochran

ZERO STARS IF I COULD The VA healthcare system is so broke that it's not even funny. The wait times, quality of information, and endless tree of phone number rabbit holes are next to unspeakable. I am incredibly lucky that I have great private insurance that I can choose to rely on instead of the VA. However, it is absolutely DISTURBING to think that there are veterans who are seriously messed up from war and have no other choice but to rely on the VA to get care. I was sent to the 'main mental health office' at Jefferson Barracks for mental health care. I was given a consult by a nurse practitioner. Not a psychiatrist. Okay, I can swallow that. Then I was told that it might be a while to get into a psychologist, because there are THREE clinical counseling psychologists on staff for over 5000 veterans!! I literally could not believe that. Again, I cannot even imagine the lives of traumatized veterans that are absolutely miserable because they cannot get proper and timely care. Mental health, of all departments, should be stocked and ready to go. It has been several weeks since my initial consult, and I still have not been able to even schedule an appointment with a psychologist. Every time I try to get connected with a particular person or office, I get sent to the wrong place. Half of those times, I am transferred to an endless ring tone that doesn't even lead to an answering machine. This is the best example. My primary care doctor put in for me to see a chiropractor. Then I waited a week until I decided to call the chiro office myself. The chiro office then 'put in' for the Choice Program because they didn't have any availability (no surprise). I called 3 days later, and the choice office had never received notice from the chiro office. I called the chiro office again. They finally got through to the choice program, who then called me to tell me that the CP was no longer available and that I would need to get set up with 'community care'. BUT, I would have to go back to my primary care doctor to get approval for 'community care' with a chiropractor. I had that done. A week later, I call to try to get scheduled. I am told that I have the consult put in and everything is ready to go, but there is no 'authorization number' for the outside provider to get paid. I asked why or what has to happen, and nothing. You just wait. I have been trying to get scheduled to see a chiropractor for over a month now. Who knows how long the wait would be after actually making the first step of getting set up and scheduled. This is for basic care. I can't imagine how terrible the situation is for veterans who REALLY NEED HELP AND NOW. I am disappointed by our government's neglect of veterans. I am without words. I am happy that I am well off enough to have a good job and great private insurance, and I feel for the men and women who have it much worse due to their service to our country, and now have to rely on the VA to help them live the best life that they can. Beyond disturbing. Hopefully there is a better future for all of us, because these priorities are clearly screwed up. It is no wonder there are so many unhappy and unstable people in America. Our healthcare does not prioritize happy and healthy people. And the Saint Louis VA takes the clear lead there. Sad.

Worst customer service ever! The front desk techs in most of the clinics are always rude, cant answer questions or repeatedly give out the wrong information. Then they have the ardasity to get an attitude if you become frustrated with their less than mediocre service. Its better to go to Jefferson Barracks. You'll get better service and care. The management at this hospital is absolutely despicable. Whoever keeps employing these less than qualified customer service reps ought to be fired themselves.
