  Well, I was referred to University Health in Detroit for a tubal consult. I had to wait 30 days to be seen. When I finally get in, they've mixed my appointment up as a prenatal, my appointment was 8:45 and I wasn't seen until almost noon, didn't get out until after 2pm, when I got in the resident was in my opinion rude...I had legit questions and she gave inaccurate breastfeeding post op information, didn't give me the information I asked to follow up what she told me about breastfeeding, she told me its a different department and that she couldn't give me the information or contact anyone to talk to me about the medications that'll be used in the procedure, they pushed Essure even after I declined (too many class action law suits), they gave me 2 pelvic exams because the resident thought she felt a cyst so the surgeon had to check, my stomach has been hurting since my appointment early last week, they just assumed I have medicaid and was trying to make me wait 30 days. I asked why I wold need to wait that long & was told that it's "Mi law for medicaid patients", once I told them I had Blue Cross through my job, they hurried with some different consent forms but said things like "If your insurance checks out before the 30 days... IF You actually have Blue Cross... Most of the women here are Medicaid... " Wouldn't my chart show what type of insurance I have? Shouldn't they have checked there 1st? And they still have not called me with my new appointment date yet and it has been 7 days... I feel like they were totally disrespectful, dismissive, and assumed things about me. I know they did (I'm black, young, unmarried, with children (same father because it's relevant) so I must be on government assistance). I kept a cool head but now I had time to think and I don't want them doing my procedure! I don't trust them! I feel like had they read my chart they would've known more about me instead of assuming thing... I hate that I might have to leave the city I live in to be serviced by doctors without microaggression!

  Its hell - no one answers the phone, wait times are an hour or longer. Every time. The doctor gets no messages and she doesn't go through her faxes. She is completely overwhelmed the place is a horrible joke.

  OB department does not care to see you in a timely manner at any time. Numerous times we show up early and wait an hour or more past out scheduled appointment time. Take your business elsewhere. These people do not treat you like a customer. You are more of an inconvenience in their day. Punctuality is not their thing here either. I recommend leaving this entire medical complex to a last resort of you have the choice to receive medical care elsewhere. The women's hospital is just as dangerous. My wife left in worse condition than when she arrived. Staff joke and kid around while you sit in a room and your days schedule is ruined because they could care less about the integrity if your schedule.
