  This is a beautiful historical estate in the middle of Georgetown with a wonderful collection of George and Martha Washington artifacts.

  We went on a school trip with a group of 3rd graders. The staff was wonderful and the kids loved it.

  Magnificent historical home we happened upon. The tour was well worth the money and the grounds are beautiful.

  A Georgetown walking-tour "must see". Well worth the price of admission. Beautifully decorated in largely period (and in many cases) actual artifacts. Building and grounds are wonderful.

  This was a little gem in Georgetown. We went in the winter, during their dollar days special, but will definitely return to pay full price and see the gardens in full bloom. The staff are knowledgeable and excited about the building's history and the process of curating the building. While there isn't one theme to the house (various rooms are staged to various time periods), the house has the feel of a family's genealogy. You walk through rooms like you walk through the generations of the descendants of George and Martha Washington's family. This genealogy gives the odd juxtapositions of eras, where one moves from a room in the federalist style to a room in late Victorian, a surprisingly delightful cohesion as the engaging curator tells the story of a mother and her children who bridge the two eras. Definitely worth checking out!
