With a place like Trulucks I expect pretty high quality service and food. The good news is that the food was a Solid 4. I had the surf and turf salad, and it was very good - the right amount of steak, excellent shrimp, hearts of palm, and the right amount of dressing. Bad news is that the service was surprisingly mediocre. I waited quite a while before getting water, and did not receive the drink I ordered until the entree arrived and I asked specifically for it.

Wonderful restaurant! Very affordable for the area. Entree's and apps were great. Very fresh seafood. Excellent service and the bar entertainment was great. Highly recommended!

Surprisingly fast and thoughtful service! Favorite Ahi Tuna and my friends who do not enjoy seafood, still find stunning steaks. Their choice of desserts is also great, they have a dessert model to show that you can better understand them. Absolutely the best Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. Put your hand. They offer the most delicious meals and are certainly not available in every Mexican restaurant. If you are in San Jose, you must go here. Good atmosphere and fast service!

The Turf and Surf was amazing. The Lobster tail was cooked to perfection and the steak had a nice sear with a hint of crisp on the top with succulent juices and very tender. My only disappointment was the key lime pie was more sweet and creamy than tart. The service was good and the live music wasn't too loud

The hostess wasn't welcoming AT ALL. She seemed shocked that we would choose this "fine restaurant" to dine. Not sure if it was due to our attire or our complexion (I wore a dress, they wore nice, dark jeans with pressed, collared shirts). The patrons waiting just ahead of us were quite rude as well, as they refused to accommodate the space for my party (3 persons) to enter to foyer. The calamari was seasoned to the flavor of someone who would wish to self-induce cardiac arrest. However, our server was quite attentive, accommodating, and personable. We used to love this venue and hope this will not be an indication of future experiences for us, or other POC. If so, we'll choose other establishments with which to spend our time and money.
