Check their website - they are "currently closed" (as of 3/17/18) due to a fire. This was one of the first places I visited in Boston before I moved here. It is a delightful bookstore that also sells really great food, especially for a vegetarian. I was excited to head back today but when we arrived, there was a sign saying they were temporarily closed due to a fire. Evidently there was a kitchen fire about a week ago. Check their website. Once they are back open for business, go.

Trident is incredible as both a bookstore and a restaurant. Trident carries a wide selection of fiction and non-fiction - some of it mainstream, but there's also a number of small press items. I've found a few cool obscure horror novels here, and the staff have lent me some great recommendations as well. And regarding food, well, it's off the hook. There's a selection of dishes from pub grub to the artisanal, and breakfast is served all day. The lemon ricotta French toast is particularly decadent. Highly recommended for locals and visitors to Boston!

This is one of my favorite study spots. They have a ton of caffeine options and if you stay long enough they also have plenty of beer options. It has two levels but it does tend to be really busy so get there early! Also, plan to get food because it is delicious!

This is one of the coolest bookstores in Boston. There’s a really wide-selection with a ton of witty staff recommendations. The readings and events they hold frequently are topical and cool. Just don’t expect to find too many bargain books - still, if you’re willing to pay Barnes and Noble prices go to a bookstore like Trident.

I love supporting small businesses especially this one because the place has a great selection of books for adults and children as well as cards and gifts. the food is pretty good. they have nice selection of drinks for coffee lovers or tea lovers. I think they even have beer. the wait staff is nice. never any issues just finding a seat at the counter. perfect place to meet and friend or hang out alone.
