  I asked the woman at the counter for a good white wine and it was the best wine I had ever had, I threw the bottle out my mistake and dreading it because I forgot the name of it.

  (See second paragraph for new comments) My friend was buying a bottle of wine and the guy in the counter asked to see the ID of all of us. And he didn't allow my friend to buy the wine because one of us doesn't have an American ID. We all brought our national ID and we are all above 21. We think the guy at the counter is so rude; my friend couldn't buy his drink because his friend doesn't have an American ID? Thank you for your reply. I don't have the option to reply to your reply, so I'm just going to explain the situation again below. The person who was actually purchasing the alcohol showed the clerk his NY State Driver's license. The part we did not understand was why the clerk asked for everyone else's ID, while none of us purchased alcohol. We see parents holding their babies to shop at wine store all the time; have you ever check any babies' IDs? I don't think so, because the babies just happen to be in the store with the adult. Similarly, a international student just happened to be in the store with her friend, who has an NY State Driver's license. In this case, the text you quoted in your reply is invalid. Moreover, I personally have purchased alcohol for more than 5 times in Tipsy with my national ID. Why didn't anyone reject me for that 5 times? In conclusion, we don't feel we are treated fairly in any aspect of this situation. Please comment below the working hour of your manager or the store owner, we would very much like to resolve this problem face to face.

  Update: I presented my NY DL at that time. Anyway I never go there since then. I wonder will they refuse to sell me wine if i go there with my baby boy who is 3 years old....lol I was picking up a bottle of wine before going home. Very strangely, the cashier asked to see the ID of my friends, who were just waiting for me to get my wine. The cashier refused to sell me the wine because one of my friend doesn't have an American ID. My friend brought her Hongkong government ID and she is 22. She has used this ID to purchase alcohol in new york for over a year now. I don't understand why I can't buy the wine because she doesn't have an American ID; and it's really non of her buisness. I'm very very upset. Angry.

  One of my favorite wine stores, the weekender is a great option with 3 pre-selected wines; normally a white, a rose, and a red. for $30 plus tax

  I love have this wine shop so close to home. First of all, the decor is adorable, all pink. They have a great selection of wines and good prices for high quality. I love their descriptions and it's easy to see what each wine pairs well with.
