Beautiful Part of the national park that you can't miss. Came by several times to visit DC with friends and Family in town. The water is always calm and reflection of the Thomas Jefferson Memorial is beautiful! You should plan out your trip to check out Cherry Blossoms each year. Its mesmerizing! To my experience, it's the best place to view and join the festivity. There are a free 3 hours parking near by call LOt A, B, and C. So it's perfect walking distance for you to walk to Tidal Basin or other part of the national mall.

The walk around tidal basin is really amazing during Cherry blossoms and is crowdy. Jefferson memorial, Martin Luther King memorial are situated in the surrounding place. The view of the Washington monument looks amazing. We visited on April14th and could see the beautiful pink blossoms though it was just after the peak time.It was really worth watching after the hectic drive through Washington traffic. Parking place near tidal basin is limited so parked 1 mile away. I would recommend you to visit.

This place is like heaven in April. Cherry blossoms are amazing. It may not be easy to find a parking spot around it so you can park around Smithson metro station and walk 15-20 min depending on where you parked. We walked all around the lake. I suggest to find out about the peak of cherry blossoms before going there to make your experience unforgettable.

Very crowded area. It was interesting that there is no railing along the perimeter of the basin. We went for the cherry blossom festival but they were not in full bloom yet. Would definitely be an place we would go back.

Been here twice before, but this was the first time I saw the glory of cherry blossom, and what a breathtaking experience! We also got really lucky because it was sunny without a cloud and we beat the crowd. We have seen cherry blossom in other well known parks before, e.g., Branch Brook Park in NJ, but nothing beats this! Tips: arrive early to beat the crowd and get free parking at nearby West Potomac Park.
