  I was uncomfortable around the staff. No one was behind the counter when I went in and I had to wait for help. And the lady was rude and awkward. It wasn’t terrible but I’m not going back.

  Come here only if you want your booze served with a side of ignorance. The white-haired woman who speaks broken English made me wait an extra three minutes (I was next in line) because she wanted to continue her conversation with the clearly *very* intoxicated man buying two 1.5oz bottles in front of me. Next, she made me continue to wait while she paused the news because she "wanted to hear about that clown Jimmy Kimmel," then proceeding to go off about her far-right, intolerant political views. To borrow a phrase from one of her favorite people: Sad. Oh, and she should absolutely be fired for a lack of any sense of customer service (customer service includes refraining from talking about politics with your customers!).

  TRIED to patronize this place again. Tall, older, hispanic guy corrected my mother’s pronunciation of tequila, talked down to her, and was an all around el pene. Selection is horrible. Owner and employees are a nightmare. Only in New York, off of a subway stop, would such a crippled business stay open. Oh, and the old woman who works here blasts immigrants (pretty sure she’s an immigrant) to people in line. Go in for a good laugh at an Astoria joke but buy your wine and liquor somewhere else.

  Wanted to by two items for twenty bucks but I bought the first one and he wouldn't charge the second cause it was under ten dollars! Not likely to go back wish him luck!

  The people who run this store are nuts. If you told me that they killed the people who used to own it and assumed their identities to hide from some other criminal element, I'd believe you. I'm a straight white dude and I get the distinct impression that if I weren't then my experience there would be significantly stranger than it already is. Very rarely can you make a simple purchase here without having a super weird interaction with an employee. It feels like you're on a prank show. I personally think it's hilarious, but I give it one star as a warning for those who might not feel the same.
