  The chickpea sandwich was good and the beets we're good as well. Others ordered the chicken out pie and fish and chips and said they're delicious as well. Everything seemed clean and sanitary. The service was nice. We had a large group and they accommodated is no problem.

  Nice bar, not too big but cosy and friendly staff. Good selection of beers and some unusual but good food.

  Service was good. Waiter was really friendly. The portions on the food where good. The seasonal cocktail list for happy hour is bang'n. So get there before 7.

  A planned group outing at a nearby pub last Saturday night proved to be ill-conceived, so we peeked in through the window of The Spotted Dog and decided it looked hopeful and we went for it. Our group of a dozen or so men of a 'certain age' needed a place to eat and drink, although not necessarily in that order. As we assembled at the bar and the group reached critical mass, we quickly lost all apprehension and realized the stars had aligned for us that night. We were treated extremely well at the bar, this notwithstanding the fact that there were two other large gatherings there that night vying for the staff's attention. Lest I forget, there was also what I assume was the usual Saturday crowd. The SD team was genuinely pleasant, friendly and professional and they were very aware of our presence the entire time. When we inquired about the possibility of getting a table for our large group, there was the immediate nodding of heads and a call to action that resulted in us being sat in what seemed like two minutes. Happy to say that the attention and stellar service only continued, as our orders were taken as soon as we were ready, we were served quickly and - not to be overlooked - the food was quite good. There isn't one thing I could point to that the team didn't do well. I'm actually glad the other location didn't quite work out for us or we wouldn't have discovered this gem. This writer plans to visit again.
