Amazing wine and knowledgeable staff. Always a good experience. The food is fantastic, too. I tried pickled grapes for the first time here.

Good wine bar with decent selection. Nothing amazing on the list but enough different stuff to enjoy. Food is good and reasonably priced. It's a good alternative to a traditional beer/liquor bar.

I’ve frequented many of the natural wine bars in the Bay Area and was excited to check out the Punchdown. The selection of wines is extensive, and the descriptions are delightful and helpful. Unfortunately, I found the experience itself to be quite the contrary. At other natural wine bars I’ve been to, any question is met with unrivaled enthusiasm and a desire to chat more about the wine. At the Punchdown, however, I was met with condescension and an outright incorrect answer! Furthermore, the bottle of wine I ended up purchasing cost $28. To consume the same bottle in the shop would have cost $50 (most other wine bar/retail shops only charge $5-10 corkage to drink on site). And not only that, but the identical bottle of wine sells for $17 elsewhere (both online and in San Francisco shops)! I was so disappointed by the experience, and with no lack of natural wine spots in the area, won’t be coming by again.

Incredible selection of natural wines from all over the world. A great bar for those truly passionate about trying unique wines. The owners make it approachable for those that might be less knowledgeable. The food selection was perfect for wine pairing with a range from bar snacks to salads and sandwiches. Everything is made in house. Gorgeous interior as well.

Amazing wines, great people and darn good food! Some of the best wines (not to mention they're natural) in the bay area. I live in SF and go here whenever I can. Super convenient for transportation and welcoming environment. I had my birthday here last year and they were super accommodating and everyone loved the wine and the vibe.
