Fun stuff and friendly staff who seem to be into the products they're selling.

Based on the description listed as gourmet grocery, I was expecting a small grocery carrying a variety of food items. Actually, this is a tiny store that basically only carries chocolate, salt, and bitters. They have a good selection of chocolate brands, including Dick Taylor, Patric, Soma, Askinose, Fruition, Amedi, Ritual. They also have samples of some of the chocolate, so you can request to sample them.

Fantastic store full or flavored salts, chocolate, flowers and cocktail bitters. Freindly staff, always go when I'm in Portland.

Who woulda thought you could spend so much time in a store? The salts are surprisingly distinctively different. Bitters are fun too!

If you're looking for fancy chocolate, fancy salt, or an excellent selection of bitters, look no further. The Meadows isn't the cheapest place you'll ever go, but the selection is impressive, the small staff knowledgable, and you can find things here you'd be hard pressed to find anywhere else in the city. If you're looking for a top gift for someone who enjoys cooking or chocolate, this is an excellent place to browse. They also let you sample the bitters and salt. If you're new to cooking with different types of salt, this is definitely a good place to start! They even have 'starter packs' of dessert salts, cooking salts, etc! If nothing else, a great place to browse with out of town friends who like shopping local.
