Great bakery and deli selections, rotating pop-up lunch options, decent beer and wine selection, lots of local Ohio stuff.

Greetings reader, Iā€™m a college student, I used to go to this store all the time for my everyday needs on campus. I noticed that security and some of the employees of the store would follow me around for being black and assuming I would steal on numerous occasions. I no longer spend my money at this tawdry establishment.

This is the only place within walking distance for downtown folks to shop for fresh, or any kind of food. I'd be ok with their ridiculous prices if quality and service was outstanding, but sadly neither is true. Instance after instance I've gotten produce that turned out to be rotten or molded, hot food from the bar that was actually barely luke warm - and way over priced, or today, when I stood at the deli counter waiting for someone to even say hi or notice me - they had 6 people behind the counter, with 1 waiting on a customer. Time and again I've been disappointed. I pray someone opens a nice co-op in the downtown area!

As dissatisfied as I always am while leaving this store- the last interaction I had with a cashier was enough to get me to right this review. While checking out I asked the cashier if they had any student discounts, and was told yes to which I replied that I didn't have my ID with me. Normally, I would be fine with waiting the get the discount until the next time I was carrying my ID, but before I even had the chance to express that the cashier informed me rudely that he wouldn't be giving me the discount because "the manager says it is store policy to not trust young people." .... As a young professional, I've got a couple of feelings on that. This "grocery store" is nothing more than a glorified convenience store and the only reason they customers come here, despite their puny and overpriced selection, is because they are located next to an art school and the only shop within walking distance. So if you're going to insult and deem "untrustworthy" the same "young people" who are keeping you in business you better be able to back that up with good product. The same liter of soda you can get here for $3, you can purchase at Kroger for $1. A box of cereal is going to be about 60% more. They have like 3 different types of vegetables here, which is honestly just gross. It is a nightmare. Here are some recommendations if you would like to spend your hard earned money at a place that would appreciate your business. Grocery stores nearby: Kroger (1.7 miles from the Hills) 150 W Sycamore St, Columbus, OH 43215 Wine and Beer nearby: Corner Stone Craft Beer & Wine (0.7 miles from the Hills) 61 Parsons Ave, Columbus, OH 43215

I have been to this establishment three times and I just love it!! The staff are friendly and helpful. They are very welcoming to us each time. I purchased some fruit for myself and pizza for my son. We enjoyed our special finds. There was a deli, a fresh salad bar with another food bar across from it, and a wine area where a person could sit and enjoy a glass of wine at their cute little bar. They had a section where you could purchase prepared foods and drinks, and then, of course there was the regular part of a grocery store. This place also had a bakery section with the most divine treats to eat!! I was hopelessly in love with this store. So whenever I am in the area, I must stop in!!
