  An absolutely AMAZING experience. Totally surpassed everything I had hoped for. Not only did I purchase hair here, I was styled as well! I went to The Hair Shop because I changed salons recently and my hair was damaged by the color process. I was afraid that I would have to get my hair cut short, so I decided to try my luck and see if The Hair Shop could help. Stephen was my consultant. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable and patient. He spent quite a bit of time figuring out which extensions and color would best produce my desired effect. He then put the extensions in and meticulously styled my hair. I walked in with a damaged head of hair and walked out 2 hours later with a gorgeous head of hair (thank you Stephen)! You will be hard pressed to find another shop like this in NYC that will take the time to get it right. Great vibe throughout the store. Everyone is helpful and friendly. Also, there is no over-selling of products. I love this place – coming here has lifted my spirits immensely. So glad I found it.

  I have never walked out of a shop or left a review online. This place was horrible. Rude sales associate, knew nothing about different nationalities hair types, slang insults 2x before the 3x when I walked out. I have been buying my own hair ext for 20 years. Wouldn’t let me see colors he was trying to match behind my head, tons of attitude and arrogant. Selling 808 brand which is bad quality. Shared they don’t sell European hair as no one wants and you can’t find in NY which is untrue and many want European hair. Awful experience.

  I accidentally saw this shop and walk right in with a friend. I was greeted nicely and inquired about a new "do". I had an idea but was not sure, so my sales associate, Stephen, took his time, made suggestions and had me try on some styles. They were ok, nice but I was not sure and then Stephen had an idea, came back with a style and Viola! I love this store and definitely will be back with Stephen's expertise.

  I bought hair here in July '17 and it is in great condition now in February '18. I've had it reinstalled about 4 times, and it is still like new. No matting or breaking whatsoever. I should've left a review sooner, but I wanted to see how well the hair would hold up. I could keep reusing the hair, but I plan on going back to Hair Shop soon to get something a bit longer. When I went to the store this summer Emily helped me find the perfect color and texture. She addressed all of my concerns and even spoke to my stylist over the phone about my questions. This place is it for quality extensions.

  Bought a pony tail here...yes they were able to match the color perfectly but that was the only positive. It is so badly constructed that you can't put it on yourself even though the sales person said it was easy to do. My hairdresser even struggled with it; she had to get someone to help her. They have a strict No Return policy so the pony tail is now a toy for my cat. Do not waste your money or time.
