Great place for breakfast set in a historic neighbourhood overlooking the San Antonio River. Parking available nearby. All items on the menu has some ingredient from the next door mill. Indoor and outdoor dining available. The pergola is a great outdoor option and is heated on chilly days. I had the 1851 breakfast platter and an Ice Republic of tea... The biscuit was kind of large considering there was a serving of potatoes in there. If you are watching the carbs consider augmenting your order. Good food otherwise.

Almost always a wait for a table, but always worth it. We had brunch trying to get between the crowds and were seated immediately at 1040 a. m on a Wednesday. Eggs, bacon, sausage and of course, the best biscuit around. Service is good, be sure to go inside and get some pastry to go with you for later. The shop upstairs has many interesting kitchen and cooking items... Like mermaid measuring spoons, or turtles, seashells and stars. Lunch specials are good as well as the regular menu items. Breezy outside seating or inside.

We had to wait an hour and fifteen minutes to be seated, but it was worth it! Our visit was on a Sunday of Spring Break, so I'm not sure how wait times may differ during other times. The restaurant is cozy and reasonably priced. I highly recommend the chicken and waffle for brunch. The waffle was delicious and the chicken was tender and juicy. You won't be disappointed.

The menu is pretty standard fare for a breakfast in Texas. The wait time can be really long but they provide coffee and water during the busy times on a cute cart on the grounds. As a vegetarian, options are limited but they do honor swapping out sausage for potatoes/fruit/berries, etc. which is really nice. The Jalapeno preserves are SO GOOD on the fresh biscuits which are huge. The best part of this restaurant is the decor in the lower inside dining area and the location. The King William area is really a picturesque place to walk around and the restaurant is situated at the best stretch of the River Walk in my opinion.

Went at 9am on a Saturday morning with a party of 6 and we were seated after about a 50 minute wait. There was plenty to do and see while we waited, including visiting the Guenther House and Museum, walking the beautifully cultivated grounds, and sipping on some free coffee with friends in a comfy lounge area. The food was amazing, but I will let the pictures speak to that. As a vegetarian, I was able to substitute the bacon and sausage options with some potatoes that were cooked to perfection. My wife’s favorite was the peach preserves on her biscuits, and the peach pastry was to die for, though we barely had room for it and couldn’t finish it all (for shame!). After your meal, I recommend taking a long stroll down King William Blvd to see the amazing Victorian style mansions - and to walk off some of those delicious calories!
