  For steak at least, this is a great place to go if you have an big expense account, the privilege to max it out, and the desire to do so without spending it on any of the amazing food in DC. They proudly serve slightly above Outback Steakhouse level steaks for slightly less than suit-required-steakhouse prices, with a menu that reads like it was written by an unadventurous hipster who took a French class in high school. My criteria for whether a restaurant is offensively overpriced is whether or not my dad (steeped in the rich culinary traditions of Ireland) could recreate the meal for less than half the price, and the Caucus room has enthusiastically met that criteria. In summary: if you're staying at the Westin, someone else is paying for your food, and you're deciding between Outback and The Caucus Room, I cannot recommend the The Caucus Room highly enough. For most other situations, I would recommend an alternative.

  Very nice place and the staff is amazing. The gelato was incredible. The food was on a pre selected menu. My boss had built up the food...I thought it was ok, not great.

  Not much on the menu, ok customer service. The vegetarian omelette was not bad.

  My second time going there today...won't make that mistake again. It's overpriced, the wait staff if less then professional and the food is not good. I got the ahi tuna sandwich today and it was dry, tasteless, and the bread seemed stale. The waitress gave my coworker the wrong sandwich and when my coworker asked her if it was wrong, the server insisted it was correct. She was supposed to get turkey and she was served salmon. My coworker was too nice to argue so she ate it anyway. When the server came back to check on us she was told the sandwich was in fact, wrong she responds, "oh yeah I know sorry I'll charge you for the turkey anyway since it was cheaper." First of all, as soon as she realized she was indeed wrong, she should've came to the table and said so. Second of all, how about you not charge her at all since you put in the wrong order and insisted it was correct? It's a shame I won't be back since it's across the street from my job.
