The office people will tell you that smoking is allowed, but if you are bothered by any smoke, the smoker will be asked to smoke in the designated smoking areas only. But this is not the case. Smoke was coming up through the deck boards on the mostly enclosed balconies and directly into my bedroom window. It was very bad and the manager told me that they are allowed to smoke, even if it bothers me. ( I was lied to) Also, be aware that rent foes not include heat/air water or trash and you have to pay Excell Energy on top of it. There are many other issues, too many to mention.

I lived in The Burlington from August 2016 to Aug 2017, the move in process was a bit of a hassle. The apartment itself was in fair condition, but several times we made it aware that our window was cracked and our kitchen sink was leaking and no action was ever taken. The other residents kept to themselves, besides some late night noise. The apartments were very geared towards dogs, do not recommend if dogs are not your thing! The gym was never clean and not well kept. They had a dysfunctional TV with no remote and nearly all the weights were missing from the rack. Overall, I would say this is more of a college dorm room than luxury apartment complex. Hope they can turn things around, but I doubt it!

First of all, I will start with the management. They are top notch and go the extra mile to solve any problems you encounter. We had several problems after moving in and they fixed or compensated us for each one. The location is perfect. Right next to Como Park and central to shopping and entertainment. They accept a wide range of dogs, both by weight and breed. This is not common among most properties. I will now focus on what needs fixing. The HVAC system needs upgrading. It either blows hot or cold. You have no control over air temp. The controller on the thermostat does nothing. You can control fan speed and on or off, that's it. Utilities are very expensive. I lived in a 3 bedroom home before coming here. That home averaged for sewer and water, 105.00 every THREE MONTHS. Here the average has been 70.00 a MONTH. Four people living in a 3 bedroom home, compared to 2 people in a one bedroom apartment. Electricity is very high. The problem being the HVAC that runs continuously. It never shuts off unless you shut it off. Huge waste of power. Viewing your apartment before leasing, you can't. Their policy is to show a model and not the actual apartment you are renting. The models are newly remodeled and that is not always a good representation of what you are renting. That was the case with us. If I had seen this apartment before hand, it is highly unlikely I would have gone through with the lease. Other issues are ones you would have going anywhere. People abusing property, not picking up after their pets, etc... Again, the new management is very hard working and seems dedicated to fixing this property's issues. They've done a lot, but much more is needed still. Update 11/8/2017 Thermostat was replaced and the continuous HVAC running problem has been fixed.

Great apartments. Good staff. Decent residents. Pretty expensive rent.

We really liked living here. Just as we moved out, everything has been renovated and updated. All the common areas and hallways have been repainted, new flooring installed, and some new lighting and fixtures. What I was most surprised and pleased about was the absolutely phenomenal management. Every single question, comment, or concern was answered accurately and timely. We had an incident unrelated to the property or the staff/residents and the issue was addressed and resolved within 24 hours. Some of the units are in the process of being updated, which is great. This place has been around for quite some time and when the new management company took over, they wasted no time updating the property. The property grounds are immaculately maintained. The dog park was recently renovated, along with the newly surfaced basketball/tennis courts, and all the parking lots were resurfaced and painted a few months ago. They also installed bright LED lights around the exterior of the property and parking lot, which definitely makes you feel safe. The maintenance crew here has a reputation for being excellent, but thankfully during my stay I did not need to contact them. There's lots of community events going on like Wine and Painting night, outdoor BBQ in the summer, and all kinds of other stuff. My only complaint would be during football season when the Packers play, a lot of Gabes overflow parking will end up in our lot, so parking can be difficult during small windows of time. This is a non-issue if you have a garage spot. Would definitely recommend, and a shout-out to Steve and Nick (and the rest of the staff) for really going above and beyond.
