The Bright Shawl did a fantastic job at our daughter's wedding reception. Staff was outstanding and so very helpful. Our concerns were promptly addressed. Food got outstanding reviews by our guests. Atmosphere a real plus with the three separate areas. Service great! Couldn't expect anything more and would use them again! As one of our guests said - FIRST RATE!

Thank you Bright Shawl for a wonderful wedding. My daughter's day was perfect. Your service was exceptional, courteous and efficient. Your wedding planning assistance was invaluable, from helping secure the hotel bookings, the Trolley rental, the bridal room, the groom's room, to menu planning and the timeline. Everyone had a wonderful time. It was a great experience.

I attended the PMI Alamo Chapter monthly meeting Jan 30th 2013. The evening was very nice. The food was good, I had some concerns from other Google reviews I read but, tonight the food was well prepared. The sound and projection system was good. The carrots were stiff but, I think that is the way the chief wants them cooked. I would host or attend events at the Bright Shawl. Great location, atmosphere and ample parking. The art work was beautiful but, a little out of my price range.

I put an extensive review on YELP but YELP never seems to post honest reviews, bad or good & frequently seems to place them to be filtered so that almost everyone doesn't see them. I am not sure how they choose what to post but I refuse to utilize a forum that will not post honest reviews across the board. I love Google + for honest reviews & experiences as well as Urbanspoon, who I now use loyally. That being said here was my experience w/ The Bright Shawl & sad to place such a negative review. I was =very= excited to come here, especially after doing research on the restaurant from the web. We had a Holiday/Christmas party of 100 people. When you 1st enter the premises it is quaint & lovely. It forum was nicely decorated for the holidays. It had an outdoor patio that was nice & our banquet space seemed perfect for our needs w/ a stage, a bar & even room for a dance area. First impressions were very nice. I was still excited during social hour... until our friends cautioned us that the salads, vegetables, dressings & desserts (pudding w/ a discolored topping) had been out on the table for two hours before dinner was even served. Anyways, we gave it the benefit of the doubt until dinner came out. The bacon wrapped filet minion was extremely tough, our party of 6 at our specific table were sawing away at the difficult meat. The ladies gave up at trying to eat it, while some of our brave husbands tried to conquer the leathery food. The scalloped potatoes were terribly undercooked, borderline raw, I mean, the food was inedible. They even ran out of bread very quickly. It was such a disappointing experience especially for such a nice occasion & also after paying $35 a plate. Sadly, I don't think I will ever try a lunch experience here, although I have read some decent reviews on it. I have been totally turned off by my experience. I am not sure if the issues were made aware from our organization to the restaurant but I would not recommend a large group to utilize this establishment for a dining function.
