While it was a holiday weekend and the temps rising, the line to enter the Alamo moved quickly. The signage has improved tremendously since my last visit and helps tell the story on the grounds. Can't wait for the improvements to get underway so you have a better sense of where the battle took place. Feel like it will also help visitors understand that this place is sacred for many reasons.

You will get a great sense of history and what happened here when you take time to read. Get the audio tour. The mission itself and the grounds do not convey a lot of information nor did I expect them to. There is a relatively new museum building that is informative along with the existing long barracks. This is a must see location.

First off I thought it was in the middle of a desert for some reason, it is in fact the opposite! Very easy to miss if you're driving and don't know what to look for. It's a pretty small place but it has some pretty good photo ops! It was pretty packed when I was there because of tourists and an air Force graduation had just finished but it was still a very nice vibe over here. It is close to the river walk and main Street with all the restaurants and hotels.

First of all, the Alamo is a free attraction! We had a great time learning the history of the Alamo. So many brave men fighting for Independence. Lots of history about how this area was settled. Great attractions for families and kids. We are not making men these days as these men were then. God Bless America and Texas.

We really enjoyed this place. The history was rich and interesting to learn about. As a family we appreciated that it was free to experience and share with our children. We wish that it was as well preserved as the missions were given that it's history was so vast. It's definitely a Texas must see experience. The gift shop was really nice as well. Something we would have appreciated seeing would be more artifacts on display inside the rooms maybe... Cannons, rifles, living essentials, religious items. Things to better enrich understanding of what it was like to live and defend such an incredible structure throughout history. Maybe some items belonging to the famous commanders. These things would have made it with a longer visit. We will definitely return with friends and family though.
