  f you've been to the Tavern in Allston, this ones completely different. Less club feel and more upscale bar. The decor is modern and minimal but it maintains a touch of class. The spot is pretty small by tavern standards but that's not always a bad thing since your waiter/ waitress can always see you. I'll talk more about it later. The food is pretty good. We got the chicken and waffles and which in my opinion beats out the best places on the west coast. The waffles were perfectly formed and sweetened while the chicken was soooo moist. I was honestly surprised. For drinks, we got the tavern 75 which was fantastic. It's made with St. Germain and it gave off a wonderful aroma of elderflower. Not too sweet and not too strong if that's your thing. Although the food was good, the wait staff is the best attribute of this location. You know how you go places and the waiter comes by every 45 minutes or so? Well not this place. I've had Victor and Inny and they always have their eyes on you and the moment you want something, you'll catch their attention. This place gives you a true VIP experience. Thanks guys.

  I am a tavern in the square fan, but somehow went to the NS one 3 times this week and each time I was very disappointed. I stopped by on Monday for drinks with a friend ordered a beer and it was sort of warm, not sure why. Then Tuesday i went with friends for dinner, ordered the deluxe burger and it came really cold, like it had been sitting out for hours. I was back yesterday for lunch with friends, service was extremely slow, we ordered our lunches 2 salads and a chicken quesadilla at about 12:10 we got our orders close to 1pm, i had to pack mine to go as I had to run back to work for a 1pm meeting. I must have asked my waiter 5 times to pack up my lunch, the 5th time was the charm. I heard the manager apologizing to the table next to us and we didn't even get asked how things were going. I am very disappointed and will not be back.

  We LOVE this place. The staff truly makes this place! I really enjoy their steak frites. The beer selection would take weeks to get through!

  This 5 star review is mainly for the security/manager that was extremely accommodating with my wife and I. My wife is currently in crutches and we had just got out of Celtic game and were looking to grab a quick bite and cocktail before heading back to the room to let traffic die down. Their was a massive line to get in, and it looked crowded and had limited seating. We were just going to walk off to see what else was available, when this gentlemen approached us and asked if we would like a table, we of course agreed. This was an extremely kind act and have not received this kind of treatment in a long time. Will definitely recommend this place as staff is really nice. Service was a little slow, but completely understandable as the restaurant, and bar were extremely full with all the fans that let out from the game.

  Visiting from out of town and this was very close to our hotel. Wait time for a Friday night was great, but waiter was gone after our food and drink order, didn’t refill, burger was over cooked and pizza was a real disappointment. Seems like a good place for drinks after work and that’s it.
