For over 6 months my car had a mystery issue. I spent a lot of money taking it to 5 different shops trying to get it fixed, with no luck. 2 weeks ago I decided to give Tariq Auto Services a shot. I wish it was the first shop I took my car to because I would have saved a lot of time, money and stress. Waleed and Jay spent 20 minutes to figure out what the issue was and 30 minutes later my car was fixed. They know how to fix cars AND they do it fast. Save time and money, go there.

On Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at approximately 12:50 PM, I went to to Tariq Auto Service located at 743 Walt Whitman Rd., Melville, NY 11747 to have an annual NYS vehicle inspection on my 2005 Toyota Highlander. I left my car at the shop to be inspected. At 1:13PM I received a call from the shop saying that my car had failed inspection due to the following two reasons: 1. A license plate light was out; 2. I needed rear brakes. The shop said that they could do both repairs for the following costs and continue the inspection: $10 to replace the bulb; $130 for labor and rear brake pads OR pick up my car and pay the $37 fail/pass inspection fee. I paid the $37 fee and decided to pick up my car seeing as how I knew my brakes were adequate. I asked the shop owner, what the required depth for the brake pads were. No answer. He said that the brake pads were so low, that there was no brake pads left, and that they were grinding on the rotor (metal on metal). (I do my own work on my vehicles, i knew this not to be true at all). I went home, took the rear brake pads off the vehicle, and returned to the shop with brake pads in hand. Each brake pad (2 sets - 4 pads) had 1/4 of an inch of brake material left on it. I confronted both the shop owner and mechanic who apparently checked my car and asked them why the told me I needed rear brakes. Neither could give an answer. I asked them for a refund seeing as how they were trying to pull off a scam to make a quick buck on what they thought was an unwary customer. The shop owner refused. I asked the shop owner to continue the inspection of my vehicle, and agreed to pay for the replacement light bulb, and he refused. I then called the cops to the location to make a complaint regarding fraud/scam. Cops arrived to the scene. A police report has been made. Pictures were taken to document the brake pads. When the cops arrived on scene, the owner changed his story, I want a refund for my "failed inspection" for a false claim by the shop that I needed to replace my brakes. I would have gladly paid the $10 for the replacement bulb and continuation of my vehicle inspection. This shop is scheming its customers into "repairing" false claims of broken/damaged parts. This shop needs to be closed down for fraud. This business needs to stop scheming its unknowing customers. I am fortunate enough to know how to work on my vehicles and knew the shop was lying when they said I needed rear brakes. This business has been reported with the better business bureau, as well as the DMV. I will be following through with these complaints to their completion.

Never get a repair from this garage. Not professional mechanics who has no proper training but the labor rate are same like dealer rates. Also got a used car from Tariq who mislead by hiding the facts of the used car. The engine was replaced and manufacturer refused do the re-call. Complete loss. He gave bogus warranties, don't trust him at all. He told me transmission and engine is 1 year warranty and the car had problem in less than 3 months. Took to him and completely lied that its not a transmission issue instead made a bill for $1500. NEVER EVER TRUST THIS GUY TOTALLY SCAM. I'm going to see authorities how to stop this scam business so no more people get ripped off
