Hidden gem. We sat at the bar because we didn't call ahead. Service was great. We ordered the fish fritters and chicken sandwich and both were excellent. Great fries too. Did not try any of the cocktails bit saw several being made from our seats by the serving area of the bar. All looked great.

These guys do an amazing Gin Gimlet if you get a chance. We didn't stay for dinner, although that would've been an excellent idea. It looked amazing! Seriously good vibes off the hustle and bustle of the busy French Quarter. Worth it.

Definitely come here and definitely make a reservation. We came for brunch and had an exceptional experience. The service was so friendly and genuine. The atmosphere is relaxed and warm. Everything we tried was mouthwatering. My drink of choice was the Lazarus Spritz. A play on a mimosa (kind of). It was delicious. We shared the light and crisp shaved brussel sprouts, which were a perfect appetizer to our meals. I went with the Vietnamese steak and eggs and was FAR from disappointed. The beef was so succulent and had a perfect balance of flavors. You can choose how you want your eggs-- I went with over easy and they were a perfect mate to the steak. Served with three slices of toasted baguette, one slathered with delicious pâté. It was a perfect plate. My boyfriend ordered the shrimp and grits and that was also so good. Tender shrimp, light but purposeful flavors. Very satisfying.

Sylvain is another one of my go-to dinner choices in New Orleans, but for heaven's sake, make a reservation, most likely several days in advance. This is a very popular destination for locals and those in the know. They don't have a particularly large dining room, but there is also a beautiful, romantically lit patio in the back. Our favorite place to dine is at the bar with one of the very talented mixologists who give great drink advice and make friendly conversation throughout the night. This bar also seems to have an historically English feel, probably due to the old and impressively massive wood bar and back bar. Conveniently located in the old quarter, don't miss Sylvain during your next visit.

Atmosphere is very chic. Our host was delightful. But our food was so bland. Very disappointed considering all the hype surrounding this establishment. The table next to us asked the waiter for salt and pepper! I guess we weren’t the only ones who thought so. It was a Sunday night so maybe it wasn’t the regular chef or something but they seemed to be off their game. One bright spot was the eggplant appetizer.
