  A mortgage bank really is only as good as the person you deal with. Sara Yan at Summit Mortgage is by far the best mortgage broker I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. I shopped around at a few big banks to get a mortgage on a house, but honestly it was just easier to have a more personalized experience with Sara. I’ve heard many horror stories of delays, non-responsiveness and hidden requirements from people getting their first mortgage from a big bank. There’s enough stress in the home buying process that I really dreaded the mortgage process too. However, I was rather surprised at how easy and smooth it was to get a mortgage from Summit. As a first time home buyer I was pretty clueless about the process as a whole. Thankfully Sara was knowledgeable and kept me informed; the documents I’d need, expected timelines, managing my credit and various things to look out for when buying a home. She was friendly and kept in contact with me through phone and e-mail for many months. I was very happy to have Sara watch out for my best interests. When I was finally ready to close on a house, she made sure the mortgage process was smooth and expedited. Most importantly, the rate I got was great! I had zero problems locking in the best rate. After the house closed, mortgage was sold to a big bank, but the transition didn’t inconvenience me at all and worked in my benefit as I already had an account with the bank. Overall, I’d say definitely go talk to Sara Yan if you’re looking to buy a home. Super helpful and I’d recommend her to anyone.
