::I LOVE Steven Alan. Love, love, love! I frequent the Upper West location, and look forward to visiting here tonight. In my experience the sales staff at ALL their stores are welcoming, warm, knowledgable and friendly. They have sustainable designer clothing for men and women in a range of styles and price points, and the promotions are great (shop in-store for deeper discounts than you'll see online). My favorite shop in NYC. UPDATE! Following my actual visit, I will say that this location differs very much from the uptown location. It has a large, lofty, airy feel; whereas the Upper West location feels small and intimate. Other than the 30% storewide promotion, there were no markdowns (that I could find); whereas the racks at the Upper West location are sprinkled with discounted pieces (usually included in the storewide promotions). I found the sales people in Chelsea more detached, in accordance with the feel of the store; but the person I worked with was nonetheless helpful, attentive, and knowledgable. In the end, I purchased a killer pair of jeans at a good discount and was satisfied with my visit.
