I recently move to DTLA area. From Palo Alto in North California. I'm Still adjusting to the culture, values and manners of the people around the area even the homeless that hang around in persing square. This the first Starbucks, coffee shop in DTLA that I visited. And as first timer, I did not have good experience based on customer service, no greetings whatsoever, I feel like I'm getting rush. Even a fake smile probably could make a difference. I needed to go use the restroom to wash my hands cause I ordered a sandwich and chocolate chip muffin, I don't like eating my food and not having to wash my hands first. They told me the bathroom is out of order. Very frustrating. They told me to either go at the corner of persing square or across the street to park at the basement. I went to the basement parking and they told me, it's only for people that are park with tickets are allowed to use the restroom. I have been here four times, and every time I ask to use the restroom, it's always out of order. I know it's not of order. It's Farytale...I don't know what's the problem with the people that works on this particular Starbucks, they sell coffee, its a diuretic it would make people go to bathroom, but they have such bad culture going on and very negative energy, I really don't have any thing good to say about this Starbucks. I would not come back here. I had enough. With their drama.

Honestly the only thing I didn't enjoy about this Starbucks was the location. Not there fault but worth noting. Soooooo many stoned and drunk youths in the street around the entry. The staff though, they were lovely. In fact I watched one rude lady walk in and order, no demand, a water. No cost to her and nothing else ordered yet she was demanding and rude but the young servers were all smiles and lovely to her... Not sure if I would have been so nice to her.

Service was great at this Downtown location but like many Starbucks not easy to use your computer/laptop/tablet. No electrical outlets, no Wi-Fi, no bathrooms!

You know that awkward situation of walking in to a store that has literally no other customers, but the employees (three of them in this case) do everything they can to ignore you? This was one of those experiences. The store as a whole could be 4 stars, but Elizabeth holds the place back. She offered no greeting, no "thanks for waiting", not even eye contact while she and another partner rang up a third partner. When we were able to finally order, I asked about the chance of parking validation for the Pershing Square garage. Instead of a "no", (let alone a polite "no"), Elizabeth scoffed at us, stating "this is Starbucks" and that they weren't affiliated with the park, even though the store is literally named the Pershing Square location. It wasn't a light chuckle, it was a rude laugh that she had to put effort behind. On top of that, she entered my name as "H" on the cup (it's Ben, though she didn't ask), so there was confusion when another customer came in for their mobile order. She also did that thing where, when I wanted to buy my own drink on my card, instead of letting my mom pay, she says "oh so you DO want something else". Final thoughts: Starbucks was by far the most demanding job I ever had, and I sympathize with any partner, so I understand the temptation to be snarky and curt. On behalf of the other customers, Elizabeth, I apologize for making your job so hard by...being there? --The two guys there were cool. One was obvs on break but took time to clarify the parking validation thing. Thanks to that guy.--
