This is a beautiful and peaceful church in the heart of the city. Masses during lunch break are really convenient. Loved the old-style Communion rail. It's size and beauty make for an intimate spiritual setting, even for a short vacation stop. St. Patrick's Church will definitely be a (streetcar) stop on my future visits to New Orleans. :)

Truly alarming experience. Fire and brimstone homily, women wearing veils, Latin hymns, priest had back to congregation throughout Liturgy of the Eucharist, no sign of peace, communion distributed at communion rail, no women or girls assisting in the service. Did I go back in time? If youโ€™re looking for a place for Mass in NOLA, avoid this place.

St. Patrick's Church is one of the most beautiful churches in New Orleans! They celebrate Mass in a way, that really speaks to the beauty and splendor of the Liturgy of the Eucharist. For the reason, I don't live close by, so I am not able to attend Mass there as often as I might like, but when I do, I truly enjoy it.

Saint Patrick's is an absolutely gorgeous church. My fiance' and I are getting married here the day before Saint Patrick's Day. The history behind the church is fascinating considering it was the second church to be built in New Orleans. Yes, the dress is modest if you intend to have a wedding ceremony here but this is made crystal clear from day 1. This is a very old and extremely traditional church so the level of modesty they require was not shocking nor did it bother me personally. They just don't make churches like this anymore. They call it Old Saint Patrick's for a reason. :)
