Could this be the perfect lunch/quick meal spot? Well the food tastes great, is affordable, healthy, fast, filling, and creative but not in a pretentious way. Ordering is done on a tablet, and guess what, it’s actually really easy to use and understand. I wouldn’t expect much confusion or any hold ups. After choosing your meal you enter your name and pay. Also, if you add a phone number, it will remember your order so next time you can reorder it. Moving to the prep counter, your name appears above one of the robotic woks. Welcome to the future! After a minute a container with your ingredients appears above the wok and they get dumped in. They’re like mini cement mixers, cooking the food as it tumbles. Once cooked it get poured into a bowl and a person grabs it to add the ingredients that didn’t need to be cooked. Sprinkle of this, dollop of that. They cover it and put a label on it that’s printed with your name on it. All that takes maybe 5-10min, depending on how long it takes you to decide which meal you want. They have 7 to choose from and they all sound delicious so just plan on going back. In addition everything is available as regular, vegetarian, vegan and gluten free. That’s right, all of they’re meals, not just one or two. I don’t know if this perfect, but man is this as close as I’ve ever experienced.

Stopped by to take a look at the place while we were walking around Boston. While we didnt eat at first we did come back later to try the food. The atmosphere is very friendly and we were greeted when we walked in and the staff was really eager and helpful. We both tried the Indian bowl and I have to say the food was fantastic. It's really intriguing watching the robot bowls make your food. When it was done cooking the server behind the counter added the final touches to the dish. The serving size is pretty big and you get value for money for sure. The food was seasoned perfectly and I have to say I loved it. Will definitely be coming back! Keep it up guys!

Delicious food at a reasonable (for Boston) price, and fast. Despite the restaurant being packed, I waited in line, placed my order, waited for my food, and was out the door in 15 minutes or less. I got the Indian bowl (apparently popular among Google guides) and it was tasty and filling for under $8. It was fascinating watching the food get prepped, and little round signs above each wok announce who's order is being prepped and the progress (starting with a friendly "hi" and ending with a thanks). Your food spins around hypnotically in the wok as an induction plate cooks it, then it's dumped into your bowl and the wok turns upside down to get sanitized with a hot water spray. Once the food is cooked, human servers ("garde mangers" in Spyce parlance, or garnish employees) put the finishing touches on it, slap on a lid and personalized label, and call you to pick up your order.

Despite the 'robot' schtick, the place is staffed by very friendly and caring people. We were greeted when we entered and had a fantastic bowl of food. They have different flavors; from Indian, Latin, Thai.... We had the Indian and were both quite happy. Conveniently located between Downtown Crossing and the Old State House. Give it a try!

Just had my first Spyce bowl 2 weeks ago. The chicken and rice bowl was amazing, but was only one of seven different meal options. There are so many garnishing choices for your meal, I especially loved the fresh pomegranates and avocado crema. The robot itself is a technological eye-candy wonder. My meal only took 3 minutes to prepare and looked so inviting to eat. The generous serving size will satisfy a big appetite, but it's tempting to order an additional bowl to-go for your next meal as well. The Spyce Kitchen is the "Apple Store" of restaurants. Well done Spyce Boys!
