Good baked goods (cookies, scones, cinnamon rolls, sticky buns, sweet & savory croissants, rolls--to name a few), breakfast & gourmet sandwiches, salads, and drip coffee/espresso & teas at a reasonable price. They also have a pretty decent selection to choose from. If you're on a diet, this probably isn't the right place for you! Most of the baked goods are ooey gooey tasty, but are packed with calories (expect a least 500+ calories). If you're not counting calories, they have a cinnamon roll comparable to Cinnabon. Their sticky bun is really good as well. For savory baked items: quiche, and croissant with cheese and meat choice. I've had a few of their gourmet sandwiches, which are a pretty good in size, is filling, but not mind blowing. Moving onto their coffee roast. They coffee is Pete's Coffee & Teas. I've never tried their teas, but their coffee roast is a darker, stronger, bolder roast and is not as smooth compared to Vivace, Stumptown, Vita, Victrola, or Ladro's. I normally get a soy latte and you can tell the difference. I ended up pairing my small (12oz) soy latte with a semisweet chocolate chip cookie and paid $6.06 after tax. The customer service is a hit and miss. It really depends who's servicing you. I've been going here for several years now and there have been some really great and helpful folks who have come and gone. Right now, there's a pretty cool and down to earth black dood (embarrassed I don't his name), who's very nice, helpful, and can be very entertaining once he gets to know you. It a good location with typically high traffic. The venue itself is on the smaller side. If you're looking for a place to hang out and chill for a little while, I would recommend their Fifth Ave & Union St location. It's twice as big with more seating and better atmosphere for chillin' by yourself or with company. I don't really like paying full price for their baked goods (once in a while I will), and prefer their day-olds which is just as good when it's warmed up for 30 seconds or so. Plus, you only pay half the price :-). But, they usually run out or it's slim pickings by 8am. It really depends how many leftovers they have from the previous day.

Updated review: Since my last review, I visited this store a couple of times more with my coworkers. The service seems to be improved. We were greeted and helped very promptly. Therefore changing my score to 4 stars. Original review (2 stars) Food items are good. But staff is a big turnoff. I've been there several times, and without exception, the cashiers were rude and cold. They usually just chat with each other while you stand there waiting to get their attention to place an order, especially in the afternoon when there is no line. At first I was like "fine, I like their bakery so I will still visit" but now it's getting really annoying. I don't think I will come back.

I stopped in yesterday at about 11:30 and there were about 5 customers in the store. I figured great, I’ll grab a quick sandwich. Nope, counter person told me there would be a minimum 15 minute wait for a cold turkey sandwich, that’s 25% of the average persons lunch standing around doing nothing! This is not the first time this has happened. I was in about two months ago and ordered the same turkey sandwich and as I watched an endless stream of what I assume to be online/mobile orders come out of the kitchen my order was nowhere to be found. After 15 minutes, I asked for a refund and settled for a bag of chips from the drug store for lunch. They do not prioritize walk-in customers and the staff seems to think it's just fine. This is a big problem, It seems to be a relatively easy problem to solve but apparently the revenue from the online ordering is more important. Love the turkey cranberry but unfortunately will not be returning, better service and oftentimes food from one of the many food trucks and small businesses around town that value the time of their walk-in(up) customers.

Thankful for the on-line ordering option. They always have it ready on time.

croissant made with rancid butter. order made wrong. And we asked if we could have some granola, but it if for yogurt toppings only. There's no "system" for selling granola when you're working in the corporate machine. Its sitting right there in a bin... But we have to pay for a yogurt if we want a spoon of granola for a 2 year old.
