::The food was so so. I'm a ribs guy. The food was soggy and salty. The ribs were not cooked right. Chinese take out ribs was better. That's not saying much. I do not think they grill the meat long enough. Plus the quality of the meat was off. There brisket was more fat than meat. Disgusting. I tried take out and ate inside. Both was bad. Famous Dave's has 1000 better meat and drinks are just as good. Avoid and try some new stuff. Ugh ugh.

::I was staying in Maspeth recently with friends, who also went to a Southern U.S. school with myself and we were yearning for some down home Southern cuisine when my friend suggested Slide. Place was located in a bit of dingy strip mall off of 65th but inside was very lean and pretty hip in its decor. Prices were a bit high and the food seemed to be more "Southern-Inspired" than actual Southern. More like something a hipster would think is Southern than actual Southern BBQ. Despite that, the food itself was good albeit overpriced. I was left satisfied and my arteries were definitely clogged with all that pork goodness. Came in looking for southern BBQ and left a bit underwhelmed but still good. Think it is worth a visit.

::I highly recommend the peach sauce. The baked beans were so so. The service was pretty good. Don't go there on a frigid night as the place was very cold. The owner came by and asked how everything was. We were the only ones eating and a few at the bar. Lot of take out orders were going out. We'll have to go back when it's warmer out. Want to try the burnt ends the next time.
