  The owner of Sherman Brothers spends most days in the store, sizing customers, offering advice, answering phone calls, etc. He took the time to personally size me up on the Brannock Device, explaining in detail my "heel-to-ball" and "heel-to-toe" measurements, my width, and exactly how that corresponds with the various lasts utilized by Alden Shoes. I purchased my first pair of Alden's here, and he even polished them before I walked out of the store. The bottom line is that Sherman Brothers not only carries excellent shoes, but the salesmen have expert advice which they provide to their customers.

  Superb service and technical knowledge. I simply sit, said what I was looking for (very comfortable dress shoes), and shortly after I had 5 personalised options in front of me. In other stores, I am often given many more. The shop assistant was clearly good at reading people. Of the 5 options, there were two that were simply great. Usually, I am indecisive about a few shoe options that are ok, but in this case, I had some trouble deciding between two that were very comfortable and beautiful. The shop assistant provided an excellent technical description of the shoes. The selection of shoes they have in store is great. I believe I found my go-to shoe store.

  Grabbed a pair of Wolverine 1000 mile boots at a discount price from them. These guys know their stuff about boots and gave a confident answer to every question. They were also quite friendly to chat with. Recommended!

  Been going to Sherman Brother Shoes for years. They've taught me a ton of important info about shoes that help me make an informed decision; like if you have a low instep you may find shoes that open with a v shape as easy to slip into as shoes that open all the way down to the toe box. But people with a high instep may find the later kind easy to put on.

  I have pretty bad foot/knee problems, so my podiatrist said that I needed to get shoes that are extremely rigid. I received great advice and assistance at Sherman Brothers and came out with the Alden 'indy' boot. Granted it was $550, but that boot has been a blessing for my knee. I highly recommend this store and the 'Indy' boot for anyone who needs to make the investment in their feet and knees.
