  I used to travel to New Orleans 6-7 times a year for work, and now my husband and I have decided to call it home and move here permanently. Over the years I have been in many of the Magazine Street shops as a tourist and now a resident. I have definitely felt the elitist attitude that some shop owners here have, but I was always warmly greeted at Shadyside. I think their pottery is some of the best around! I have numerous bowls and trays, and have given many as gifts, and have never been disappointed. They will even go out of their way to create a custom piece for you. A must visit, classic New Orleans shop on Magazine Street!

  After visiting a couple of pottery shops on magazine I was having a pleasant experience seeing different artist and great work. I walked into shadyside pottery to 2 workers so mesmerized by the tv behind the counter that we were not greeted nor did they look our way. The work was not as impressive as other places on magazine and i even saw glaze peeling off one piece but i still wanted see what all they had to offer. All of a sudden the guy behind the counter lights a cigarette! So no greeting, average work, and smoking while customers are in the store. This place gets 0 stars
