    Given a good thermometer, I could have done the tests myself. I know when things are working. We used to have better checks. The guy was polite and all that, just clear it was a very standardized test to make sure the basics were working.

    The first repair itself went fine, but I waited for appointment to repair my dishwasher for 3 weeks. The second repair was completely useless. Technician arrived 3 ours late. He replaced some parts and didn't check if original issue was fixed. Appeared it's not fixed at all.

    While the tech who tuned our 2 A/C systems was knowledgeable and excellent, Sears had, and probably still has,a systemic problem where the left hand did not know what the right hand was doing. I have been a Sears service customers for years and this year, like before, Sears sent me a discount offer for a no. of services they provide. I scheduled an appointment with Sears and multiple times verified with the rep I scheduled my A/C and home heater tune up with that the price for the tune up for A/C and the home heater is discounted in accordance with the discount offer. And the rep multiple times confirmed the charges for the tune up. Not satisfied, I called 2 more times and spoke with different reps and both of them confirmed the discount rate for the tune up of my 2 A/Cs and 2 heaters. On the day of the service, the tech arrived and I spoke to him again about the discount rate before the start of the service and he said that he would not service my A/C and heater at the discounted price. I called the Sears Service phone no. listed on the offer that Sears had mailed me and spoke to a rep on speakerphone in the presence of the tech who came to service my A/Cs and heaters. The rep verified and confirmed the discount offer and yet, the tech refused to service my A/Cs and the home heaters. He said the discount is too high and he wanted to confirm with his boss. His boss also refused to honor the discounted price. Then, the tech and his boss called the region manager who offered to honor the discounted price but would only tune up the 2 A/Cs but not the two home heaters. Consequently, I had to schedule another service call for the home heater tune up a few weeks later. I am confident that with the left hand of Sears not knowing what the right hand is doing, I will have to go through the same rigmarole again when the tech shows up for home heater tune up. Well, here is the update: Sears called me back on the day of the service and refused to tune my two heaters for the coupon price of $29.99. At this point, I decided to leave Sears alone and go with a different vendor. Sear used to be highly reliable company but not anymore due to, I suspect, their financial woos! On the other hand, I admire the tech who stood up and said that the company cannot afford the service at that price and I know for a fact that a company cannot serve its customer at such a low price.
