  I just attended the Small Business Workshop in Fort Worth. It was very helpful and the speakers were great. They were able to provide a lot of helpful information on Business Planning, Capital, Insurance, Taxes and Legal.

  SCORE FW has got to be EVERY entrepreneur's treasure chest of knowledge, help & resources for any prospective business owner (and best kept secret)... These are intelligent VOLUNTEERS who donate their precious time FOR FREE to individuals like myself who need assistance, clarification or direction in almost every aspect of a new or even existing business. In addition, they are INCREDIBLY encouraging and will locate the information if necessary! They also have very low cost sometimes targeted seminars, full of knowledge to get one started or enhance your company revenue. I have met with many of the volunteers and taken a few of these seminars. They bring in speakers on several important business aspects, some with information in business areas we have not even yet thought of! One I have met on many occasions is Catherine Pena. INCREDIBLY knowledgable in the Social Network and web design arenas every online business will need... Kris, who has been extremely helpful in the manufacturing aspect of my business needs... And Martha, who has great knowledge in the jewelry industry. These are some of the few most recent volunteers who have helped me immensely! In addition to these in particular, Joni the secretary is helpful in answering my questions and helping me find the right volunteer for my particular problem of the moment. And as many issues that need to be addressed in starting a business, there are many! She is my first point of contact and has never failed to direct me to the right person. If you have read this far and are contemplating a business, or in the R&D stages or even well into your business, this is the place that can help! I cannot THANK them enough for ALL they have done for me!

  As a volunteer mentor for this Chapter, I believe there is a wealth of diverse expertise for almost any entrepreneur, whether already in business or just developing plans for a start-up. I highly recommend this group as your FREE and passionate mentor throughout your business development life cycle.

  Attended the recent Social Media Workshop led by Catherine Pena; drove up from Waco...and it was soooo worth it!! She presented a good case for the "Why" of it, and then supported it quite well with the"How," including great tips on the "When" factor, also! Opened my eyes, for sure! This was my initial meeting with SCORE, and I am quite impressed! For those of you in the greater Ft. Worth/Dallas area, my advice would be to definitely take advantage of this great resource in your midst! Thanks so much, Catherine and Joni, for a very informative and profitable workshop!
