::My parents have been trying to make it to Schmidt’s for a very long time however, due to how crazy busy they get, we have had no success. Recently, we returned to Columbus for a concert and we finally got around to eating at Schmidt’s. Here’s how it went: We arrived shortly after they opened (Friday 2/17) and they weren’t busy so we immediately got a table. Our waiter got to us really quick and got our drink orders. He was SUPER friendly and energetic, ready to give us recommendations if we wanted them. We got the pretzel nuggets as an appetizer and I gotta say: I’ve had so many pretzels lately, but these have to be some of the better ones I’ve had in a while! Super crispy, salted perfectly, and the beer cheese was great too! As my entree, I got the Flat Brat (basically a brat burger) with waffle fries. What are my thoughts? It was good. The pretzel bun was soft and tasty, the burger itself was decent. The waffle fries were amazing! Fried to perfection and overall were fresh! Overall, I’d say that the food lives up to the hype. If I make it to Columbus, I’ll hopefully make another visit here and you should too! (That is if you can get a table successfully, haha)

::We arrived with a group of 20 on a Saturday evening. We had a little over an hour wait, which wasn't bad at all considering how many of us there were. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. The food was amazing! This was our first time going to a German restaurant, and it did not disappoint. The pretzel nuggets were really good, and the mashed potatoes were delicious. The gravy on the weiner schnitzel was probably the best gravy I've had. You must go here if in the Columbus area.

::Really enjoyed the food here. Very busy place, had a 30 minute wait for a table. Service was good, our server was very attentive. The original cream puff was big and tasty. I had the Bahama Mama original, it was great! The German potato salad was a pleasant surprise. Worth checking out along with the area around the restaurant. You will not go home hungry. And the mustard on the table was on point.

::One of my favorite places in the entire US. Every time I travel to Columbus, I bring my coworkers here. Never disappoints! The service is always impeccable and the food is absolutely delicious. Got a sausage sampler and a snitzel this time. Plenty of beer, wonderful entertainment and a unique environment. Great family restaurant! Come out and support your local businesses and avoid the chains. I highly recommend this place!

::Such a great time. The atmosphere is super fun, the food is tasty and reasonably priced and the service is great. For starters, I highly recommend the sauerkraut bratwurst balls and the famous pretzel nuggets. For dinner, I ordered the weiner schnitzel and my wife got the Bavarian cabbage rolls. Both dinner portions was plenty and wound up taking some leftovers home. If you want to experience authentic German home-style food and drinks served with a side of “Old World' charm give Schmidt's a try. You won't be disappointed.
